main banjaran raam ki ~Guru Nanak

main banjaran raam ki
terra naam vakharwa paar je

Iam the shop-keeper of my Lord.
Your name is my merchandise and trade.

Harni hovan vaan bassan
kand muul chun khavun.

what if i were to become a deer, and live in the forest,
picking and eating fruits and roots.

Guru parshadi merra shoh mile,
baar baar hau jaun jeyo

By guru's grace i found my husband lord,
Again n Again I am a sacrifce to him.

kokil hovan ambh vassan
sahaj shabd vichar,

If i were to become a cuckoo, living in a mango tree.
I would still contemplate the word of the shabad with intuitive ease.

Sahaj suhbae mere shoh mile,
darshan roop apar,

I would still meet my Lord and Master with intuitive ease.
the Darshan, the blessed vision of his Form, is incomparably beautiful.

main banjaran raam ki.
I am the shop-keeper of my Lord.

machli hovan jal vassan
jiv jant sabh saar,

If i were to become a fish, living in the water,
I would still remember the Lord, who takes care of all beings.

urvaar paar merra shoh vasse
hau milungi bahn pasaar,

My husband lord dwells on this shore, and on the shore beyond;
I would still meet him, and hug him close in my embrace.

main banjaran raam ki.

Iam the shop-keeper of my Lord.

Nagin hovan thar vasaan,
shabad vasse bhau jaye,

If i were to become a snake, living in the ground,
the shabad would still dwell in my heart, and my fears and all darkness will be dispelled.

Nanak sada sohagni,
jin jyoti jott samaye,

O Nanak they are forever the happy soul-brides,
whose Light merges into his Light.

saaNsoN kii maalaa pe simruuN maiN pii ka naam
apne mann kii maiN jaanuuN aur pii ke mann kii Ram

With every breath I take, I chant the name of my beloved
I know of my heart, and God knows of the heart of my beloved

yahii merii bandagii hai, yahii merii puujaa

This is my salutation [and] this is my prayer.

ek thaa saajan mandir meN aur ek thaa pritam masjid meN
par maiN prem ke rang meN aisii Duubii ban gayaa ek hii ruup

One lover was in the temple and another in the mosque
but to me, immersed in the joy of love, both seemed same

prem kii maalaa japte japte aap banii maiN Shyam

Chanting on rosary, the name of Shyam [Lord Krishna], I become him.
Note: A Hindu God sung and revered by the patrons of love.

ham aur nahiiN kuchu kaam ke
matvaare pii ke naam ke, har dam

I am worthless except that
I surrender to the name of my beloved, all the time.

priitam kaa kuch dosh nahiiN hai vo to hai nirdosh
apne aap se baateN kar ke ho gayii maiN badnaam

My beloved is not to be blamed, it is no fault of his
I became infamous only because of talking to myself.

Who are you?

GuruGranthSahib ~ Page 30

Bin gur mehal na pawiye naam na prapat hoye, essa satguru lod lau jis payie sach soyi . Asur sanghare sukh vase, jo tis bhave so hove. Jeha satgur kar janiya, teho jeha sukh hoye. eho sahsa mul nahi bhav lave jan koi. Nanak ek jot doi surat shabad milava hoyi.

Without the Guru, the Mansion of the Lord.s Presence is not found, and
the Naam is not obtained. Seek and find such a True Guru, who shall lead you to the True Lord. Destroy your evil passions,
and you shall dwell in peace. Whatever pleases the Lord comes to pass.As one knows the True Guru, so is the peace
obtained. There is no doubt at all about this, but those who love Him are very rare. O Nanak, the One Light has two forms;
through the Shabad, union is attained.

By your will !! ~Guru granth sahib(Pg-98)

As You command, I obey; as You give, I receive. You are the Pride of the
meek and the poor. You are everything; You are my Beloved. I am a sacrifice to Your Creative Power. By Your Will,
we wander in the wilderness; by Your Will, we find the path. By Your Will, we become Gurmukh and sing the Glorious Praises
of the Lord. By Your Will, we wander in doubt through countless lifetimes. Everything happens by Your Will. No one is
foolish, and no one is clever. Your Will determines everything; You are Inaccessible, Incomprehensible, Infinite and
Unfathomable. Your Value cannot be expressed.

To Remember Me ~ Robert N. Test

Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face, or love in the eyes of a woman.

Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain.

Give my blood to the teenager who was pulled from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live to see his grandchildren play.

Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist from week to week.

Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body and find a way to make a crippled child walk.

If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and all prejudice against my fellow man.

Give my sins to the devil.

Give my soul to God.

If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever.

every time

Every time when I woke up and god appears nd say good morning beta
That moment is so precious :)
Every time when I go to my work and m late god appears and say be on time beta
That moment is so precious :)
Every time when m in trouble nd god standing next to me nd saying I m with u beta
That moment is so precious :)
Every time when m confused nd god says do this beta
That moment is so precious :)
Every time when m smiling nd when I see god is also smiling with me
That moment is soo precious :)
Every time when m crying nd god put his hands on my head
That moment is so precious :)
Every time when I go to sleep nd god says good night beta
That moment is so precious :)
I don’t know how to count these moments
But in my case every moment with my god is precious. . . :)

Alif, Allah-Chanbey di Booti (A: Allah The Jasmine Plant) :- Translation

Compared to all the shrubs in the world Jasmine is
the tallest and for that reason I’ve called it a plant.
The flowers are refreshingly fragrant.
My Spiritual Guide planted Allah’s Jasmine plant in my heart
He taught me negation and affirmation of religious teachings
Within me the plant’s fragrance created a tumult
0 Bahu, may my Spiritual Guide, who sowed that beautiful sapling, live long

Do not say prayers, even your intentions are not so only
to show your pious ness you hurry to the mosque
There you perform the ablution, but at heart you’re unclean 0 Bahu,
without a Spiritual Guide your prayers,Intended or not, won’t matter

Even if my whole body is eyes,
I’ll be still unfulfilled looking at my Spiritual Guide
Even if all my pores become millions of eyes, I’l1 be eternally looking at Him
Even after that I’ll be still unfulfilled, then who else should I turn to?
Looking at the luminous face of the Guide is equal to millions of pilgrimages
O moon, rise to give us light and for the stars to worship you

In the streets I’ve seen people turning from riches to rags when the times change
I pray no traveller who is destitute loses his way
O Bahu, though we are mortals but do not disturb us,
for, we’ll fly ourselves like birds

Faith is sought by all, but no one wants the Spiritual Love
My heart is disgusted when people seek faith,
but are ashamed of seeking Love
The Love leads to a goal of which faith has no knowledge
O Bahu, I rather have the longevity of my Spiritual Love than my faith

My Spiritual Guide’s threshold is Ka’ba to me
where the devotees supplicate Between the locks of his tresses is prayer-mat
where all the faithful meet And his chin is like the Fountain in the Heaven where
all the travellers quench their thirst
O Bahu, why should I go to Mecca when I can perform
pilgrimage through my Spiritual Master

I learnt about Allah, memorised Qur’an at school, and was exposed to the world
Though I became scholar, still I was in the pursuit of wealth
Though I read thousands of books still my worldly greed remained unconquered
O Bahu, only God-Men could subdue the inner greed

I’m tired of fasting, praying and prostrating Many times
I performed the pilgrimage, still I’m unfulfilled
Let’s go to another wilderness for there is no place here for meditation
0 Bahu, all is realised by a single glance of the Spiritual Guide

Only heart is the true dwelling place of the Almighty
O seeker peep into it Rekindle the flame of knowledge in the darkness,
because your lips are sealed and lost for words

Do not beg Khizr for the waters of eternal life, because it’s within you
O Bahu, he who gets a Spiritual Guide knows the secret Of the Universe

I’m so ugly, but my Beloved is so handsome, then how can I attract him
He does not enter into my home though I endeavoured to my best
How can I please him when I’m neither good looking nor rich?
O Bahu, my eternal sorrow will be that I may die Crying

I could not find the Creator either in the heaven or earth
I could not find Him in the book or in a mosque’s niche
I could not find Him on my visits to the Holy Ganges and the shrines
I travelled endlessly in His quest
O Bahu, but once I got hold of the Spiritual guide all my torments of quest ended

Kalam Sultan Bahu

Zabaanee kalma har koee parhhdaa,
Dil daa kalmaa koee hoo.
Jitthe kalmaa dil daa parhhee-e,
Mile zabaan na dhoee hoo.
Dil daa kalmaa aashiq parhhde,
Jaanan yaar galoee hoo.
Kalmaa mainoon peer parhhaaiaa,
Sadaa suhaagan hoee hoo.

-

Everyone recites the Kalma with his lips;
Rare is the person who recites it from the heart.
When the Kalma comes from the heart,
The spoken word has no value.
Only mystics know this Kalma of the heart.
What do they know, who only sing and preach?
My Master has taught me this secret Kalma;
I am now forever united with my Lord.

Sun fariaad peeraan diaa peeraa,
Aakh sunaavaan kainoon hoo.
Tain jehaa mainoon hor na koee,
Main jeheeaan lakkh tainoon hoo.
Phol na kaaghaz badeeaan waale,
Dar ton dhakk na mainoon hoo.
Main wich aid gunaah na hunde,
Toon bakhshendon kainoon hoo.

-

O Shah Jilani, Master of Masters! Listen to my supplication.
Who else will minister my needs? Who else will attend to my plight?
For me, there is no one like you;
But for you, there are forlorn millions like me.
Do not read the scroll of my evil deeds;
Pray shut not the door of remission on my soul!
But for a blatant sinner like me, says Bahu,
who would have given you such a chance
To exercise your forgiveness?

Sun fariaad peeraan diaa peeraa,
Arz suneen kan dhar ke hoo.
Berha arhiaa wich kapraan,
Jith machh na baihnde dar ke hoo.
Shahh Jilaanee mahboob subhaanee,
Khabar lio jhat kar ke hoo.
Peer jinhaan daa Meeraan Baahoo,
Kaddhee lagde tarke hoo.

-

O Shah Jilani, Master of Masters,
Listen intently to my supplication:
My ship is caught in perilous seas
Where even mighty whales dare not venture.
O Shah Jilani, beloved of God,
Make haste and come to my rescue!
Those who rely on you, O Meeran,
As their Master and Saviour,
Will safely swim across the ocean of life.

Sai roze sai nafal namaazaan,
Sai sajde kar thakke hoo.
Makke hajj gae sai vaaree,
Dil dee daurh na mukke hoo.
Chille, chalee-e jangal bhauna,
Is gal theen na pakke hoo.
Sab matalab ho jaande haasil,
Peer nazar ik takke hoo.

-

Endless fasts, prayers and worship,
And acts of prostration have worn me out.
A thousand times have I gone on pilgrimage to Mecca,
But that did not end the wanderings of my mind;
Nor did my retreats to the seclusion of the forest
Bring me the enlightenment I had sought.
But all the objectives of life are met, O Bahu,
When the Master bestows a merciful glance!

Seene wich maqaam hai kaindaa,
Murshid gall sujhaaee hoo.
Eho saah jo aave jaave,
or naheen shai kaaee hoo.
Is noon Ism-al-Aazam aakhan,
Eho sirr Ilaahee hoo.
Eho maut hayaatee Baahoo,
Eho bhet Ilaahee hoo.

-

My Master has explained to me
The reality of living in the heart:
It is called Ism-i-A’zam,
the Word of God- It is the divine mystery.
This Word is the breath of our lives;
Other than the Word nothing exists!
It brings life, it causes death;
In it lie all the secrets of God!

Shariat de darwaaze uchche,
Raah faqar daa moree hoo.
Aalim faazil den na langhan,
Jo langhe so choree hoo.
Putt putt ittaan vatte maaran,
Dardmandaan de khoree hoo.
Raaz maahee daa aashiq jaanan,
Jaanan keeh athoree hoo.

-

Lofty are the portals of religion;
Hard to find is the narrow path that leads to God.
Priests and scholars allow no one to find it;
They throw stones and rocks, they persecute Saints.
Lovers have only discovered this strait path
By keeping out of their sight.
Only lovers know the secret path to the Lord.
How can people driven by blind impulse find it?

Shor shaihar te raihamat wasse,
Jitthe Baahoo jaale hoo.
Baaghbaanaa de boote vaangoon,
Taalib nit sambhaale hoo.
Naal nazaare rahmat waale,
Kharha huzooron paale hoo.
Naam faqeer tisse daa Baahoo,
Ghar wich yaar vikhaale hoo.

-

May God’s grace descend on Shorekote,
Where Bahu lives!
Like a gardener who nurses his seedlings,
The Master always tends and protects his disciples:
He nourishes them from his court With his merciful glance.
Someone who shows you the Lord within your body
Deserves the name ‘Master’, O Bahu.

Serenity Prayer

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Amen.

Gal mukdee naheen

Makkay gayaan, gal mukdee naheen

Going to Makkah is not the ultimate
Even if hundreds of prayers are offered

Going to River Ganges is not the ultimate
Even if hundreds of cleansing (Baptisms) are done

Gaya gayaan gal mukdee naheen
Pawain sow sow pand parrhaeeay

Going to Gaya is not the ultimate
Even if hundreds of worships are done

Bulleh Shah gal taeeyon mukdee

Chal Way Bullehya Chal O'thay Chaliyay

Chal Way Bullehya Chal O'thay Chaliyay
Jithay Saaray Annay
Na Koi Saadee Zaat Pichhanay
Tay Na Koi Saanu Mannay

O' Bulleh Shah let's go there
Where everyone is blind
Where no one recognizes our caste (or race, or family name)
Or where no one thinks anything of us

Masjid Dha Day, Mandir Dha Day
Dha Day Jo Kujh Dhainda
Par Kissay Da Dil Na Dhaween
Rub Dilaan Wich Rehnda

Tear down the Mosque, tear down the temple
Tear down every thing tear-able
But don't tear down anyone's heart
Because God lives there

Mittar Pyare Nu ~Guru Gobind Singh

Please tell the dear friend - the Lord - the plight of his disciples.

Without You, rich blankets are a disease and the comfort of the house is like living with snakes.
Our water pitchers are like stakes of torture and our cups have edges like daggers. Your neglect is like the suffering of animals at the hands of butchers.
Our Beloved Lord's straw bed is more pleasing to us than living in costly furnace-like mansions.

BhaaveN Jaan Na Jaan (Bulleh Shah)

BhaaveN jaan na jaan
Ve vehde aa vad mere.
MaeN tere kurbaan,
Ve vehde a vad mere.

Come to my courtyard, my dear
You may not be aware
I'll give to you my life, my dear
Come to my courtyard

Tere jiha mennu hor na koi,
DhooNDHaaN jaNgal, bela, rohi.
DhooNDHaaN ta saara jahaan,
Ve vehde a vad mere.

There's no one like you for me
I've searched all deserts, forests and plains
I've searched the whole world to find you
Come to my courtyard, my dear

LokaaN de bhaane chaak maheeN da,
RaaNjha te lokaaN vich kaheeNda,
SaaDa te deen imaaN,
Ve vehde a vad mere.

Let people call you a lowly cowherd
Let them say you are a wonted lover
But you are my everything -
My faith and my being -
Come to my courtyard, my dear

Ma pe CHoR lahgi laR tere,
Shah anaayit saaeeN mere,
LaaiyaaN di lahj paal,
Ve vehde a vad mere.

I left for you my father and mother
I wanted you to be my lover
Shah Innayat, you're my master
Honor the love of the beloved
Come to my courtyard, my dear.

Aao Saiyo Ral Deyo Ni Vadhaai (Bulleh Shah)

Aao saiyo ral deyo ni vadhaai,
MaeN var paaiya raaNjha maahi.

Friends, come and tell me I'm lucky.
My lover has come to marry me.

Ahj taaN roz mubaarak chaRiya,
RaaNjha saaDe vehde vadiya.
Hath khuNDi, mondhe kaMbal dhariya,
ChaakaaN vaali shakal banaai.
Aao saiyo ral deyo ni vadhaai.

The day of greetings has arrived.
My lover in my courtyard has arrived.
In his hand he has a staff.
A blanket covers his shoulders.
So humble and lowly he looks.
Friends, come and tell me I'm lucky.

MukaT gaoowaaN de vich rulda,
JaNgal joohaaN de vich rulda,
Hai koi allah de val bhulda,
Asal haqeeqat khabar na kaai,
Aao saiyo ral deyo ni vadhaai.

His crown rolls among the cattle.
In pastures and forests he wanders.
Could anyone tell he's the Lord?
No one can tell who really he is.
Friends, come and tell me I'm lucky.

Bulhe Shah ik sauda keeta,
Peeta, zeher piyaala peeta,
Na kujh laha ToTa leeta,
Dard dukhaaN di gaTHaRi chaai,
Aao saiyo ral deyo ni vadhai.

Bulleh Shah says this:
I struck a deal with him -
I drank a cup of poison for him.
I didn't care for the loss or gains.
I didn't care for the grief or pains.
Friends, come and tell me I'm lucky.

kuttey teython ute

do some good deeds, says Bulleh Shah
you lost your bid even to dogs
they are superior to you

Bulleh Shah asmaani ud-deya

Parh parh ilm te faazil hoya
Te kaday apne aap nu parhya ee na

You study to become knowledgeable
But you never studied yourself

Bhaj bhaj warna ay mandir maseeti
Te kaday mann apne wich warya ee na

You run to enter your mosques and temples
But you never entered your own heart

Larna ay roz shaitaan de naal
Te kadi nafs apne naal larya ee na

Everyday you fight Satan
But you never fight your own conscience

Bulleh Shah asmaani ud-deya pharonda ay
Te jera ghar betha unoon pharya ee na

Bulleh Shah, you try grabbing that which is in the sky
But you never get ahold of what sits inside your own house

Ilmon bas karin ohh yaar

Ilmon bas karin ohh yaar
Ikko ALF tere darkaar
Ilm na aavay vich shmaar
Jaandi umr naieen aitbaar
Ilmon bass karin oh yaar

Enough of learning my friend!
To it there is never an end,
An alphabet should do for you,
it’s enough to help you fend.

Parh parh likh likh laaviin dher
Dher kitabaan chaar chophair
Kirdey chaanan vich anhaer
Pichho rah Tey khabar na saar

You’ve amassed much learning around,
The Quran and it’s commentaries profound.
There is darkness amidst lighted ground
Without the guide you remain unsound,

Parh parh shaikh mshaaikh kahaavin
Ultey maslay gharon bataavin
Bey ilmaan nu lut lut khaavin
Jhuthe sache karin iqraar

Learning makes you a Shaikh or his minion,
And thus you create problem trillion,
You exploit others who know not what,
Misleading them with wild opinion.

Parh parh nafl namazaan guzaarin
Uuschiyaan bangaan chhangaan maarin
Minbar te chard wa’az pukaarin
Keeta tainun ilm khwaar

You meditate and say your prayers,
You go and shout at the top of the stairs,
Your cry reaching the high skies,
It’s your avarice which ever belies.

Jad main sabq ishq da parhiya
Dariya daikh wahdat da varhya
Ghuman ghairdhan de vich ardhya
Shah Anayat layaa paar

The day I learned love’s lesson
I plunged in to the river of divine passion
An overwhelming gale, I was confounded and lost
When Shah Inayat cruised me across

~ Bulleh Shah
